Speaking of anything with a heart of gold, Ruby was the one.  She was the sweetest animal ever, she never bothered anyone.  She enjoyed eating mostly anything meat (no veggies/low carb diet), napping, sunbathing, hanging out in the kitchen with me, and doing anything that didn't require a lot of moving around.  Although she enjoyed burying her bones in the backyard.  Those bones she buried were never recovered, she must have done a great job hiding them.  In the summer, she was never in the house during the day, she was always spotted in the front yard.  Some neighbors thought she was a statue.  Giving her a bath was a chore, my husband had to help me carrying her in the bathtub.  She didn't like water very much anyways!!  I guess our feelings were mutual about her bath time.
Ruby passed away on June 1, 2011 from a brain tumor, it was one of the saddest days of my life.  We planted a pink dogwood tree in our backyard in her memory.  There wasn't a day that went by without me missing her.  She's always in our hearts forever.

Note:  Ruby was also known as Noon Brie, Manunica, and Rubalicious just to name a few.

Once upon a time, my daughter and her boyfriend were shopping for a pet with a huge budget of $20.  They wanted to get a hamster, but.....but where would the hamster live?  At his parents' house or at our house??  Anyway, they couldn't afford a hamster plus accessories with their $20 budget.  They learnt to compromise and ended up buying a beautiful blue beta fish instead.  Bubbles is a well behaved quiet little boy, he keeps to himself most of the time.  He's been getting along very well with Stella, but he forces to be more alert now with Miu Miu around.  He's been moved between the guest room and my daughter's room depending on where Miu Miu sleeps.  You know...a fish & a cat, one happy family, right..right??

On the night of Saturday, November 3, 2012, we spotted a sweet kitten near our front porch and thought she must have belonged to someone in our neighborhood.  A  week later she was still wandering around unclaimed.  As night fall approached, the temperature dropped, I saw the same kitten in front of a neighbor's house.  I quickly told myself that I would house her for the night and would find an appropriate home or a no-killed shelter
for her.  I carried her home, then realized I had neither cat food nor a litter box.  I quickly called my neighbors who own cats and of course.....they kindly brought over some cat food and a litter box.  My daughter immediately fell in love with her and it didn't take me long to fall in love with her, too.  Well.....enough said, the rest is history.  As we all know, Miu Miu is now the new addition to our lovely family.

Note:  Miu Miu a.k.a. Miuccia

Stella is our English bulldog who will be 5 on Dec. 3.  Wow, time does fly fast!!  She weighs only 32 pounds which is quite unusual for this breed.  She loves playing hide and seek and enjoys walking very much. However, she can't walk more than a block due to her flat nose (very common for this breed).  She physically gets tired very easily, but her spirit is always exceptionally high.  She' s a food addict like me but unfortunately she can only eat very...very few things.  She can only eat home-cooked meals because of her food allergy, beans and rice is her staple.

Note:  Stella is also famously known as Baby Chub

I’m an atypical almost middle-aged girl who currently lives in a beautiful tiny town called “Spring Lake”, Michigan.  I’m not a full-time mom or a full-time wife (because I work full-time), but I’m a mom, a wife, an animal lover, a cook, a food addict, a former city girl, an aspired Bond girl, and etc…….  I was born in a magical faraway land so far away from Spring Lake.  The exact distant from my home town and Spring Lake is 8741 miles.  The best way to get there is to fly…..oh my….oh my not too much fun being on a plane that long.  Anyway, let’s see what I have in store for you.

I love my pets, and they love me :)  My pets are my family, they make me smile, laugh, mad, and etc.....but they never talk back (unlike my teenage daughter).  All they have to do is just look at me and instantly I'm melted away.
