As I was preparing dinner for my daughter and me, she was doing her homework very diligently which was quite unusual.  She was working on a piece of pop art and she chose Twiggy as her model   First she had to sketch the portrait, then used it as a prototype for her pop art, I guess.  This Twiggy portrait will be added to her portfolio and she'll use the portfolio as part of her art school application process.  She appeared to be pretty happy about her work and I was definitely happy for her, yippee!!  Finally, she and I found something that we both had in common.  I would say she's more like her dad when it comes to artistic talents, they both are pretty good at drawing or sketching stuff.  As far as my artistic talents go, my stick people aren't even cute.  By the way, may I brag a little bit about my daughter here, please?  She has just been accepted to a great art school in Grand Rapids and I'm so very proud of her.  She's extremely excited about it herself.  The day she got the acceptance letter in the mail, she cried and said...I don't have to plan to live on a street anymore, I now have a future ahead of me..................Did I ever mention that I love my teenager very very much!

Yes, I am home sick today with several symptoms.....sore throat, allergy, sinus, and a tummy ache.  Am I becoming kaput??  The good news is I got to sleep and relax for most of the day which I believe that's what my body needs.  Stella has been itchy and scratching herself uncontrollably during the last few days; it is her allergy again.  I'll blame it on the Thanksgiving turkey again, she's not supposed to have any but somehow she did get some.  She ended having to go to her vet this evening to have the itch removed, poor dog!  She's now sleeping and snorting again as usual, but she's so cute, therefore, her laziness must be forgiven.  The vet also suggests that we bring Miu Miu in for a blood test before having her spayed and de-clawed since cats can have feline aids.  It sounds pretty scary, right?  It is not as scary as it sounds, it is very treatable (unlike the human kind).  The disease is only contagious among cats, it won't spread to human, or dogs, or other species.  Miu Miu will be scheduled to see the vet very soon, we know she's healthy, but we want to make sure everything's perfect with her.  I don't want any of my animals to be sad, I love them way tooooooooooo much!

What a cold day from dawn till dusk!!  All I want to do is snuggle with my pets, eat in bed, watch some mindless TV shows, and write my mindless blog.  There are days when I don't want to think at all.....simple tasks.....simple minds.  Anyway, I found a pair of 3.5"heel snow boots...YES snow boots with heels.  They are grey suede boots lined with soft faux fur.  Gorgeous!!  I'm going to get them as a Christmas present from my mother in law which means I have to wait another month before I get to wear them.  This is gonna be a test of patience.  Just so you know, I plan on wearing them whether or not there's snow outside.  I'm so very excited.

Here's the description of the boots from the boot maker.
"The snow boot for girls who celebrate winter. The soft suede and furry lining are flirty and warm, but the heel means you can take on the elements without sacrificing your style."

Are you as excited as I am?

Four days off went by too fast and I'm still tired.  I need two more days off to recuperate from overeating during the Thanksgiving holidays.  I'm blaming on my giant turkey for making me sleepy all the time.  In the mean time, I'm truly thankful for the abundance of food that we've been having.  I have to be at work by 7:30 a.m. which means it is so frigging dark when I leave my house.  Fortunately, it hasn't snowed that much so the roads are still normal.  The fall time change doesn't work for me at all, the sky gets dark way too early.  This makes me tired too easily.  I guess my point is if I ever become the president, I will change some rules regarding the work days .  Please see the proposed change below.

1.  4 days work week (Mon.-Thurs./10 hours a day), this will save lots gas and time
2.  No time change in the fall
3.  Employees should have more than 2 weeks paid vacation
4.  6 months maternity leave
5.  Early leave during your child Parent-Teacher conferences

Yikes!  I don't mean to get into any politics at all, and I don't wanna be the president either.

Stella's Breakfast
I'm so not used to staying up late at night, I was up until 3:00 a.m....holy cow!  I was playing with my website adding new recipes for my friends and family.  To my surprise, I'm the first one to be awake in the house.  My husband, my daughter, her friend, and the pets were sound asleep.  I was starving when I first woke up, so I went down to the kitchen fixing something for myself to eat. Then I heard meow...meow, Miu Miu was now awake and hungry, too.  She loved turkey and rice that I made for her during the last couple of days and I know she wanted more.  She's officially spoiled now.  I wonder if she'll ever want her dry cat food ever again.

Speaking of pet food, Stella can only eat home-cooked meals.  I ran out of her food this morning which I would have to cook it before she was awake.  Instead of just beans and rice, I decided to add some sweet potatoes to her diet today.  Stella loves sweet potatoes, however, her vet says too much sweet potatoes is not good for most dogs because they shouldn't have too much Vitamin A intake.  Again, once in awhile is OK!

The pets were fed.  I was fed.  It's time for a nap for the three of us.  My husband and my daughter sure can figure out what to eat when they're awake.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow..........not

Snow is finally here in Spring Lake, Michigan along with the cold air.  The temperature has dropped by about 30 degrees.  I'm thinking about going out to the mall nearby to check out some Black Friday deals.  My bulldog "Stella" is sleeping by my feet and snorting very loudly.  She sounds like an engine of some sort.  As for our new family pet "Miu Miu" is relaxing cozily in the guest bedroom surrounding by her toys.  By the way, she's a sweet little kitten and we are already in love with her.

My husband is playing with his new design software called SketchUp.  He's redesigning his home office, his new website, and appearing to enjoy his new tasks very much.  In the mean time, our lovely teenage daughter is driving in the snow for the first time.  Please avoid driving near her if you happen to spot her on the road.  Anyway, what are you doing today??

Where do I begin?  I love shopping but I don't love shopping when I have to compete with 10,000 other shoppers for things I don't know if I have to have.  Am I making any sense here?  Here I go.....ready to fight the Black Friday crowd.  Watch out, I'm armed and dangerous!!

Christmas music played continuously................................................................................................................................

Well. well.....I ended up stopping at a few stores, bought a few things for my daughter.  The lines weren't too bad, however, I missed some of the door-buster deals.  In a way, I'm happy to miss those deals, because I would have bought something I didn't need anyway.  I just came to realization that I enjoy blogging more than shopping.  How can this ever happen???

I’m so thankful for Thanksgiving!!  I can’t wait to roast and eat my giant turkey, I always buy a big bird since the leftover turkey is one of the best thing to have around the house.  Our Thanksgiving dinner plan will consist of a turkey & gravy (of course), stuffing, mashed potatoes, squash, sweet potatoes, dinner rolls, a pumpkin pie, and a pecan pie…..YUM.  Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays, no stress with presents and such!!

My husband I are going to definitely play with the Christmas lights today before the sky gets dark.

I have to run to a home improvement store to return a lantern that we planned on replacing, because it unfortunately doesn’t fit with the system that was established on the one we have, bummer!  I really like the one we just bought.  I’m sure a better lantern will come along if I’m destined to have a new one.  In the meantime, I’ll have to pick up some Christmas lights as well.  I can’t wait to decorate my house; it’s going to look like a homemade discotheque……how sweet!!

By the way, my daughter and I just adopted a sweet lost kitty (a.k.a. Miu Miu) into our home; it’s been a bit over a week now.  I’m so glad we found each other, although my husband seems to disagree with us.  Our bulldog (a.k.a.Stella), seems to be doing alright with the new member, she sniffs her here and there, just to make sure the new kitty is not an alien.

Instead of me cooking tonight, Jets pizza will be our personal chef instead, so personal that they’ll allow me to specialize my own………half Hawaiian/half Jets Ten..yummy!!

My lovely friend stopped over to drop off a bag of jasmine rice (the best rice in the world) for me, how nice of her!  She, my daughter, and I ended up having a fun conversation about her weekend Christmas shopping in Oakbrook, IL.  She was attempting to buy her husband a classic shaving kit for Christmas, I thought that was a terrific idea…….but….but she ended up not buying it because the shop manager couldn’t figure out the correct price for her….bummer.  I thought I was going to borrow her shaving kit (after she gave it to her husband for Christmas) to replicate one of the Skyfall movie scenes…..darn…..darn!!!!!!!!!!

I’m an atypical almost middle-aged girl who currently lives in a beautiful tiny town called “Spring Lake”, Michigan.  I’m not a full-time mom or a full-time wife (because I work full-time), but I’m a mom, a wife, an animal lover, a cook, a food addict, a former city girl, an aspired Bond girl, and etc……. I was born in a magical faraway land so far away from Spring Lake.  The exact distant from my home town and Spring Lake is 8741 miles.  The best way to get there is to fly…..oh my….oh my, not too much fun being on a plane that long.  Anyway, let’s see what I have in store for you.
